A project to fulfill large-scale topographic survey of the Rogunskaya hydroelectric power station construction area (the Republic of Tadjikistan) is considered in detail. This project was fulfilled by the NAVGEOCOM Engineering company in 2009 using the ground laser scanning technique. Application advantages of using ground laser scanning technology for digital mapping on a scale of 1:500 for both field and office processing are marked against traditional geodetic techniques of ground surveying.
